Rebuilding My Portfolio V2: Lessons in Clean UI and Performance

After looking at my original portfolio for a few months, I had only one thought: 'Who made this?' Oh wait... I did. So I rebuilt it. Portfolio V2 is cleaner, faster, and actually reflects my growth.

The Awakening: When Your Old Code Haunts You

Every developer knows that humbling feeling: you open a codebase you wrote four months ago, and your jaw drops in disbelief. Did I really use 14 nested <div> tags for a button? Why were animations stuttering on mobile? Why is the color contrast practically invisible under direct sunlight?

Instead of patching the cracks, I made the conscious decision to tear down Portfolio V1 and engineer Portfolio V2 from the ground up.

Design Philosophy: Fewer Questionable Decisions, More Substance

In V2, the goal was simple: create an interface that I could confidently send to senior recruiters and clients without secretly praying they close the tab before scrolling!

• Generous Whitespace & Visual Rhythm: Replaced cluttered blocks with intentional vertical rhythm, adhering to Apple Human Interface Guidelines and modern design system principles.
• Fluid Micro-Interactions: Integrated Lenis smooth scrolling alongside GSAP ScrollTrigger for subtle, performance-conscious letter reveals and hover elevation.
• Mobile-First Architecture: Zero horizontal overflows, unified typography clamps, touch-friendly 44px tap targets, and rock-solid drawer navigation.
• Curated Dark & Light Tones: Moving away from default harsh primaries to refined slate, deep charcoal (#0f172a), and vibrant warm accents (#f25b2a).

The Continuous Developer Mindset

A portfolio is never truly static—it is a live reflection of your evolving engineering taste and problem-solving prowess. Building V2 proved to me how much my frontend architecture, CSS mastery, and product thinking had matured in just a few months.

And as for Portfolio V3? Knowing my obsession with continuous improvement, I'll probably start ideating on it soon!
